MACRAME MARKET BAG WORKSHOP Saturday September 28 - Sunday September 29, 2019 in PORTLAND

Joining us from the mountains for Southern California, Jo Abellera brings the spirit and love of wild places to her textile practice. In this two-day workshop, held at the Wildcraft Studio School in Portland, Oregon, students will learn to follow patterns using macramé knots to design and create a version of Jo’s carefully designed Macramé Market Bag. With hands-on instruction and design support, students will learn the process of detailed macramé construction, from knotting techniques and patterning to the introduction of three-dimensional form. Students will leave with their own uniquely hand-crafted, made-to-last market bag made of natural jute.

Open to beginning and first-time weavers, 16yrs + up
